Thursday AM in the Yak on Jackson!

Post by bman »

After having fun last night I kept thinking- I'm 5 min from the boat landing.
So I got up at 5:30, had some coffee and headed out the door.
Sunrise was perfect!

First few were Pnuts

Caught two 18"ers so we are having fish for dinner!

11 fish in the boat - lost a few in the thick stuff - Caught them all on top water before 9am!
Tried a jerk bait for a little with no luck.

I think I may have seen you out there yesterday evening. I was the only flats boat on the lake. Was that you?

Great catch!

Barry, we need to "hook up" one morning. You're 5 minutes away...I'm 5 football fields away

We were down there the other morning catching the smaller bass by dragging Ribbit Frogs across the pads...fun to watch them little boogers explode through the pads  We only managed a few small bream on crickets....

captkeyser- That was me! or at least I saw you go by.
Did you fish or were you just looking at the lake?

dolphinatic- Lets do it- I'll call you next time I'm going out.
I got an Idea on those Bream!

Its just too easy to fish for a couple of hours and then drive home.

Did a little of both. Only caught two bass, both were small. YOu are exactly right, it is far too easy to drop in and fish for a few hours after work, and what a beautiful lake.

It's a great lake whether you're just running the boat trails, fishing, or hunting. I'll be out there for early Teal and have been checking it randomly. Are they hitting a certain topwater or pretty much anything you're throwing?
