Marker 24 out of St Marks

Well the itch that turned into a rash a couple a weeks ago started bleeding late this week as I had been told the boat was going to be splashed Wed or Thurs and it's been delayed until Monday .

So a buddy from the office and I decided to jump on a charter out of St Marks as he had a couple of friends in town from Texas that had never been Saltwater fishing.

Left the dock around 8:30 and ran south of marker 24 where we proceded to pick-up 124 Black Bass and Pink Mouth Grunts no grouper were caught the entire day .

On the upside the captain gave me his numbers, and was very forthcoming with info, not sure that's a good sign. If I ever want to catch grunts and Black bass I know where to go. We were in shallow water all day and the Capt. said it would be another two-three weeks before the fish moved in.

Suposed to Sea trial with a buddy and the mechanic on Monday. At the same time we're going to head out and try it again, with Mechanic in tow, as he promised to show me around and give me a few numbers. So hopefully I'll be able to get out, forcast not to good right now though.

Geno sound like you had a lot of action. I guess the grunts are better than nothing. We didn't do much better we had 1 red keeper for the day.

Absolutely DS!!! Cooked a bunch up last night, very good table fair. I will say if a grunt was as big as a grouper he might be the toughest fighting fish in the ocean. We had a blast without a dought, just being out their was fun.

Big Pond Charter, the owner's name is Dave. The "mate's" name is Jeff. Jeff is an old salt that's been fishing these waters his entire life. He new several of the guy's that I grew up with in Rocky Creek. He's one of those guys that only needs a compass and a window weight with twine, to feel the rocks, and he can find fish. Unfortunately for Jeff capt. Dave holds the purse strings and didn't want to burn any fuel to find the fish. Although Jeff made several comments that the fish would be in, in about two-three weeks. So it could be they just aren't in yet.
