deer season...karma

Post by SHOWBOAT »

As is my tradition each year, I return to Ohio for deer season with my father. He had seen some great bucks during archery season, so I had high hopes. We hunted hard the first two days of gun season without an antler seen, then I drove back through the rain last night. The second day I took an antlerless deer to "provide for my family," as a year without venison didn't sound enticing. A nice time with my father and always an enjoyable hunt, but not exactly our most productive season from a harvest stand point.

I return 1000 miles without incident and start working again today. At lunch time I head to the house for lunch only to have an 8 point crash into my side view mirror on Chairs. You have to be 'effing kidding me! It was almost slow motion but nothing I could do except hold on and hope i didn't get gorged. I guess he had a deal with his buddy's in OH....

what were the end results of the deer?
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark

He ran into a fence then untangled his antlers, jumped it, and took off into the posted area with pine trees on the east side.

I called the police back at my house to see if I should get a police report and they told me I had left the scene of accident. I said they should have seen how quickly the other party left. Thanks for the "protection and service"...

I feel your pain man. I hit a doe on the highway Saturday night. That's the closest I've come to a deer all season, and I didn't even get the backstrap because she ran off. Today I find out how much it's gonna cost me. Stupid deer......

That sucks Benji. Hopefully the truck didn't suffer too much damage.

I saw another nice buck Saturday going into the refuge. Makes me wonder if I should really be headed back to Ohio with the smoke pole or if I should be looking for land down here. The thought of anothre bullwinkle is just too tempting.

Have a good Christmas buddy.
