Where's the trout?

Post by flatsfan »

Finally getting to go fishing after about 5 months out of the loop with a new baby and holidays and what not. Anyway, my trips are few and far between and I get to go next Monday. (thank you MLK.) I'm wondering where my best bet is for some trout, reds, maybe sheepshead. We are putting in at the fort at St. Marks. Should we hook a right and go up the river this time of year? My guess is the flats where we fish in the summer will be a little cold. Like I said,I get very few chances, so please hook me up with some advice. We want some action.

They have been catching a lot of big trout in the Carrabelle river. Go to the bridge and turn left toward the boat club. That canal that runs by it to Jordan's Bayou is full of trout. Live or dead shrimp on a popping cork.
