You gotta love a Rock Guard made by Wavel Porter of Porter's Marine in Woodville. http://www.portermarine.ws/
Sure saved me a lower unit a few times now, but last time I hit a rock it bent my skeg a little.
So I took it back to Porter's Marine today, and Wavel and son (I think) straightened it out right away.
Wavel would not accept any payment! I had to force son to take 10-buck tip.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.
A local marine repair shop told me they had a customer come in with water pressure issues on a flats boat, and ended up being the round bar in the front he rock guard was pushing too much water away from the lower pick ups... just sayin'. keep an eye out. ( I've had 2. Awesome product., great folks...)
Wavel's Rock Guard is a wonderful product. I've had 2. But if you have one installed on your outboard you might want to invest in a water pressure gage. Just because water is coming out of the pee hole doesn't mean you have sufficient water pressure to properly cool the motor.
