I am looking at purchasing a Spot satellite device but wanted hear from someone that has one first. Any pros/cons? Also does anyone knows if this device will notify Sea Tow incase of engine failure. I looked at their web site but couldn’t find a definitive answer.
Thanks

Re: Spot
I have one. It does not notify sea tow. It has a 911 feature you can buy for an additional yearly fee that will notify the authorities if it is triggered.
It is a little slow to acquire satellites but the track feature works pretty well.
The help button is for non life threatening situations and you can have it notify anyone by email and phone with a predefined message.

Re: Spot
Look for the new SPOT-II that should be out very soon. The sales rep is telling me it's a little smaller and locks on to the satellite faster. Has some other cool features, but i'm waiting on my sample.
