St Johns River 04/05--04/07

Post by Fisherman989 »

Went down on the St Johns last Monday. Came back Thursday. Highlite of the trip was the high wind. It's blowing all over Florida. We fished mostly in Lake Dexter till the wind came up...using crickets...worms....gar row. Crickets were the best. Fishing wasnt too good. Four of us caught about 50 total...bream and catfish. First time I.ve used gar row. Nastiest bait I've ever used. Either the bream had already bedded....or had not started.
Good fellowship...plenty to eat. :P

Sunset Landing on River bend road, it's right across from the mouth of the Oklawaha "sp" river on the St. Johns :-D
