Weekend Excursion, before basic training !!

No not me. I did my time.

A young man (21) that most recently help me do most work on our Carrabelle house. I have know Brian since he was in the 6th grade ( my first year teaching/coaching). I ended up coaching him 5 years in baseball (3 at MS and his Junior and Senior years)

No sour grapes, but if he had not hurt his arm (surgery) he would be getting a college degree or paycheck from baseball.

Today we will start a different coaching (military: how to) to give him a head start for basic training.

Sorry so long, but I want to give some background.

He is going down with us to Carrabelle for a long weekend 2/12 to 2/15.

We didn't get this trip planned until yesterday, so we will be boatless (I don't have the boat ready)

Anytips on where might be the most productive place to try and catch a fish or two? dock, surf, island, etc.

I have also thought of getting a guide for one day, if it would not break the bank.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Dean that is mighty kind of you to take this young warrior on a farewell trip. If I weren't leaving for Atlanta this morning for Rota-tor Cuff surgery I would be honored to take you out on the Tide-Dancer. Maybe some one will will pony up a trip for you. Even if you have to throw back the fish you catch it would be nice to be on the water with your buddy.

Also I don't really like the weather, I will try to work it out if you want to go.

In general I fish below Perry at Spring Warrior. it is 90 min from my house C belle is 3 hours.

Thanks, that was a kind offer, but I looked at the weather and it looks to be miserable fishing weather, especially Saturday. We will be flexible based on the weather. I figured we could go to public docks in Carrabelle, Pirates Landing docks, old dock at the motels at Lanark, bay side of St George SP or over to St Vinent on ferry and fish the pass.

I gave him his first pre-boot camp lesson yesterday evening. Basic stuff with facing movements and marching.

Plan to continue tonight, He suppose to run and do: pull ups, pushups and situps today.
