gettin skinny any suggestions?

I like both the park and wade and the park and kayak ideas, but Iunderstand if you're not wanting to get wet or to go to the extra trouble of loading a yak into the boat. Have you considered just finding a little junker john boat, or maybe an old gheenoe? I wouldn't get rid of the Key West just yet. If you're willing to do a little searching and have some patience, you could have another boat motor and trailer for about $1,000. Maybe then you could afford 2 boats.

I agree that a Panga is the closest thing to a do-it-all boat, but it has limitations. The best do-it-all boat is actually two or three different size/style boats.

Of course, I only have one boat and a kayak, but I'm broke. If you're broke too, disregard everything I say.

blue are you trying to get skinny in creeks or just on the flats The reason i ask is i have a keywest 19'6 and it will get skinny on the flats. I have not done alot of creek fishing out of this boat yet. What motor do you have on it wondering for a different reason.

I have a yamaha 115 on mine, I like going back into the creeks during high tide I can get in some of the time but have to be really careful to be out in time. I know someone mentioned a jack plate, how much might that help with my situation?

Jackplate may or may not help. If you are dragging bottom with your hull already then a Jackplate won't do a whole lot. However, if you are not dragging hull then the Jackplate would allow you to raise your motor, then trim it up which would allow you to gain a few inches. All I generally fish is shallow water. I have a 20ft Back Country flats boat and I would be limited if I didn't have the Jackplate, for my situation it helps a ton. Put you a trolling motor on there as well.
