Lake Jackson (My First Report)

Post by brunner2178 »

Went to Jackson last week( 4/10/04 ) and the week before. The bass fishing was excellent. I was actually able to put in my bass rig, of course mainly taking it easy due to the water level. There were a couple of other boats with bigger motors out there as well. You can launch your bass boats out at the end of Crowder landing using care of course. The majority of bass were caught on red shad zoom u-tails, zoom trick worms, and towards the evening a rattlin rogue jerkbait caught a couple. The biggest was about 4 1/2 lbs coming from the rogue. If you can get your boat in the fishing is really well. Your limited in your spots due to the water level, but putting in at the end of Crowder is your best bet. Also on a side note, you may want a 4-wheel drive vehicle to launch, due to the makeshift "sand bottom boat ramp". Good luck and give it a try, the bigger ones are in there, but you will catch your share of lil guys. This monday ( 4/19) I'll be headed to Talquin and will keep you informed. Hope some of this info. helps.
