how to install a water separating filter?

Post by itiger »

Hi, I am wondering if any of you have experience of installing water separating filter between the outboard and the fuel tank? I have a 98 Mercury 9.9HP.

What products do I need and where to buy them?

Thanks

Most of the separator's that I've seen have an indicator on the top that show the flow direction in ... out. It's pretty straight forward. Just place it somewhere that is easy to get to so when It's time to change the cartridge, you don't have to stand on your head.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

If this is for your gheenoe, it would be a whole lots cheaper and easier if you just bought a 5 gallon CLEAR jug and poured your gas into the jug from the tank  water is heavier than gas and will sink to the bottom of the jug, then just pour the gas back into the tank and stop before you get to the water
