Everyone on the board is so focused on the oil spill, you don't see as much questioning on how the Obama administration is angling not to let this "crisis go to waste".
So at the end of the day, we should be asking ourselves which in the long run will do more damage to the nation and our efforts to fish. Said it before and will say it again, at least BP produces something and gives us a product for our money. I consider this less evil than taking my money forcefully from me with no real plan to give me anything in return; instead only having an aim to modify my behaviour through financial punishment.
Understanding the article and how difficult it is to reverse taxation trends, I'll put my money on the Obama-bill doing more long term damage. Nature will clean up it's act in due time. I have far less optimism that our politicians will.

This whole administration and their socialist policies are getting ready to put us in the poor house, and soon. I keep hearing stories of successful business people having to close their door and look for a job. People who cant find jobs in their field. Part time employment is many times the only opportunity, if you can find a job at all. Doctors who are scared to death that they will be working for the government instead of themselves.
I thank my lucky stars each day that I have a full time job with health benefits. I am also very scared that it won't last.
The "Cap and Tax" bill that our President is proposing will certainly cause us to enter the European fuel market(Germans are paying around $10 a gallon). Just because we have had an accident that has caused an oil leak(huge oil leak) does not mandate a shutdown of all oil drilling. If one plane crashes or one car crashes we do not shut down all air or auto transportation. Where were all the doom sayers when the Toyota recall was happening. Did the President or The House mandate that we take every Toyota off the road until the problem was solved? And why have we not heard from the NTSB lately about Toyota? Why have all the mystery accelerations magically gone away?
I will get off my soap box now.
