Chalk's Other Talent

Post by CSMarine »

And y'all thought all he could do is Fish. Chalk did the architectural drawings for my house. My wife and I are building it ourselves one nail, one board at a time. Been working on it four years. It's almost finished. Thanks Chalk for helping me out. With such a fine set of drawings, it's made it easy for two amateurs to build.

VERY NICE HOME, YOU MUST BE CLOSE TO THE COAST, NOTICED SOME SEA OAKS OUT IN THE FRONT YARD. BABE AND I BUILT THE HOME WE ARE IN NOW. I AM GLAD WE DID IT WHEN WE DID, THERE ARE SO MANY RULES AND REGULATION NOW I CAN NOT CHANGE A LIGHT BULB WITHOUT GETTING A PERMIT. YA DID A GOOD JOB.

It's four miles from Keaton Beach PA. You think Georgia is bad. It cost me almost $1,000. for permits alone. I spent $1,100. for Hurricane clips, and it took three inspections to pass the framing rough in inspection. It's rated for 135 mile per hour winds now. The post for the front porch are 14' long 6" X 6" poles buried four foot in the ground with concrete poured around them. That's the only way I could get it to pass wind shear inspection. I'm up on a sand hill, in the 500 year flood plan, but they made me elevate the drain fill by two foot.

Yes, Chalk said since I was living so close to the coast, I really ought to put a roof on it. I was going to just leave it open at the top to enjoy the fresh air.
