Saturday was a bad day.
My fish were right where I left them Thursday. However, Saturday was one of those days that whatever could go wrong.......did go wrong. My partner and I managed 3 keeper fish and didn't have enough to compete. We were fishing the Coca-Cola Tournament. A 5 fish limit that weighed 16 pounds won it. We had 7 pounds.
Sunday was a better day. I had the same partner as Saturday, except Sunday was individual competition. We were competing against each other. Went right back to our daylight spot and I boated 2 keepers in the first 20 minutes. Went to our first sand bar. I caught my third keeper on my first cast. Then the bite slowed down. I also had my partner down 3 to nothing. After about an hour my partner caught one over 5#. 10 minutes later he caught one over 6#. He had quickly gone ahead of me. We tried a few more sand bars and caught a few more here and there, but went back to our firs sand bar to finish the day. It wes worth going back. I caught 1 more that went over 4#.
At the end of the day my partner had four fish with a total weight of 14.53# and won the tournament. I finished 5th with 10.22#.
