Started friday at about 9:30 AM on the day of the dreaded one high tide. Proved to be an accurate prediction of the fishing results. Managed to catch 3 nice keeper trout late in the afternoon, but the rest of the day was very slow. We did find heavy hot action for Spanish/Lady fish out past the second Bird Rack on jigs with cut bait, but they're so tough on tackle! Sat. was no better for trout, so we decided to concentrate on the Spanish, still hot and heavy, 1 mile out from the 2nd B. rack. Sunday was much better, a limit of nice trout by 10AM on electric chicken grubs in 3-5 feet of water a mile west of Rock Island. Later in the day we found a mixture of Blues and Trout out near the 1st B. Rack and a school of friendly dolphin....I had one come up to the side of the boat while I was trying to land a Bluefish. He/she turned her side to me and looked me in the eye. I swear she was asking me to give he/she the Blue. Over all another great weekend on your forgotten coast.
I wasn't aware of a Georgia chapter until last night. Can you give some more info, I see you have a meeting in Albany the 18th. If I'm able I will attend the meeting in Albany.... Chalk
Tom,
Yes, I am going to try and make the meeting, my fishing partner reminded me of it the other day. My kids are playing ball three nights a week starting this week so our fishing has had to take a back seat right now.
