Fishing Envy

Post by fishinfever »

Went out on the flats this past Sunday in 2 to 4 feet of water. All was going well on the first few drifts, and then all went down hill. That is for myself! The Captain completed an "Apalachee Bay Slam". At least, that is what he called it. The "Master" hauled in flounder, mackeral, trout and a 27 inch red. I can't forget the rock bass. Now, I'm not sure if it was due to my generosity. I did not to use the "on the bite" artificial bait that we were in short supply of. Then, there is the reach advantage that I know has to come into play with casting distance. Hmmm.... I'm trying to think. Oh yes, one has to stop fishing when having to net all these gorgeous fish! What a day!!!! That is for the Master Captain.

All in all, the day was productive. I still had a blast. Can't wait to try again when I'm on top of my game.

LOL, when I was a child my grandfather used to take me fishing and when I was catching all the fish and he was catching nothing, he would have me bait his hook for him and sure enough it worked everytime, he would start catching also. Later when I was older I asked him to explain, and he said that because he had changed the oil or worked on the lawn mover, or filled the boat with gas etc. that he had something on his hands that the fish did not like so he would have whoever was catching all the fish bait his hook for him.

Interesting point. I think your grandfather was on something. Thanks.

I figured that one out some time back. I carry a bottle of camping soap. Whenever I get sunscreen, oil, gas, etc... on my hands, I am able to wash it off successfully.
