Trolling motor question

Post by bcastleb »

Hey I am going to buy a new trolling motor, old one croaked. I've decided on the Riptide, but I'm still unsure on the models. What are your opinions on a stick steer vs foot control / remote control ?

i would buy a stick steer and mount a bigfoot switch on the floor. that way do have to keep turning the motor on/off by hand

Remote Control with the i-pilot option... it includes the co-pilot and auto pilot and is gps controlled... leaves your hands free for more fishing and the options like gps tracking, speed adjustments in .5 mph increments for trolling and spot anchor are amazing. Well worth the extra pennies IMO.
