Apalach 5/7

Post by craSSh »

Went out of Apalch this morning, we got to our first hole and 2 boats were already anchored up. So we had another number about 100 yards away. We marked it, anchored up, dropped bait and caught a couple of shorts then one keeper. The shifting wind kept messing with our anchor heading, so we re-anchored 3 times and by then the bite had stopped. The anchor got stuck, so we pulled it with the boat and bent it all up. Needless to say we did not have a spare anchor on board. But made the best of it and had a decent day. Total tally 4 gags, 5 snapper, 1 big grunt ( 3 lbs.), and a spade fish (read earlier post on spades). The big grouper was over 20 lbs. and the big snapper was probably just under 10 lbs. Seas were calm and it was a beautiful day.
