St marks fishing BARs, up river, or flats ?

Post by DAVE »

Is it too hot now for the Red to still be up in the river? Would my best bet be to try the Bars? I am going out saturday and am tired of getting skunked comming back with just a big old beer buzz    Thanks for anything

All I can tell ya fer sure is that I caught a 25 inch Red in front of the Ocholocknee state park last Sunday :-D and that's about 5 miles up river from the mouth of the bay  but the water should be little warmer in the St Marks

Wevans is a wise man, start at the confluence of the rivers and work your way down. Port Leon creek and the pilings just to the south may be a good bet. I fished from the fort to the power lines last week and caught nothing but small sheepshead.
