Dropped the boat in the water at 8am and headed out. Let me digress, the no-see-ums were miserably thick and with no wind in the morning, loading the boat and idling out was quite fun! We stopped at Rotary Reef and caught a 20" gag, goofed around for a bit then headed out to K-Tower. It was an easy ride out, and the wind really died down for a while. There were a few large schools of baitfish on the way out. We threw some things at them to see if we could get any lurkers below, but nothing bit. Upon arriving at K tower, the Cuda were everywhere, we mistook one for a Russian sub it was so big. We drifted the tower and threw an array of artificials to start. Hooked up to a big cuda that gave a good fight with some aerobatics then spit the hook. Switched to some cut LY's and on first drift nabbed a nice Red Snapper. Caught a 16"+Grunt on another drift, released it and on his quick swim down the russian sub cuda nipped him in half, then circled and finished him off..poor guy. We drifted for a bit more then headed in, when the wind really started to pick up. Overall a fun day, even though nothing in the cooler except bait
.
