Dragonfly Boatworks

Post by smeseroll »

Alright Mav/Hewes guys. Anybody heard of Dragonfly Boatworks? http://www.dragonflyboatworksllc.com

I saw a nice looking skiff sitting in a parking lot today and I wasn't familiar with them. I looked them up and learned that the company owner used to be an owner of Maverick. Founded in 2007 and made in Vero Beach, good reviews and from what I've been able to find, a little cheaper than Maverick. The boat I saw was the 16 emerger, 40 etec tiller.

I also saw they make a line of high end kayaks.

So what's the word on these boats?

The 3-17' models are clearly mav/hewes clones, but the 16 Emerger has a classic look.

Mark Castlow use to do the shallow water shows that toured the US. He's a nice guy.

The grandslam 17 I believe is based on/same hull as the early 90's silverking 17 if you've heard of it.
