Mexico city Beach ....pinfish ?????
does anybody know if the water has gotten warm enough to get the pinfish up into the canal at Mexico City beach????? planning on heading down soon....and would love to know if getting live bait while down there with my pinfish trap is a possibility....this will be our first trip to Mexico City Beach and we will be starting from scratch....I talked to a friend about using a sabiki out at the bouyies,,,,,,but I really love setting my trap and having bait waiting for me in the mornings......

I don't know that any of us are qualified to say anything about the beach in Mexico City but the water in Mexico beach Fl. is perfect for bait fish right now

Re: Mexico city Beach ....pinfish ?????
my bad....like I said, never been there...only trying it because of all the good things I hear about the near shore bottom fishing....in carrabelle, finding bait isn't a problem......but not knowing if I can find a place to put a trap in the canal, or even if there are any pinfish up in the canal to catch is my biggest concern......

Re: Mexico city Beach ....pinfish ?????
I grew up spending summers there... there were pinfish and grunts galore in the canal.
But there were also tons right off the beach. I bet a trap would be full if you just dropped it outside the canal.

Re: Mexico city Beach ....pinfish ?????
We caught pinfish in a trap in the canal a few weeks ago, so yes on your question. Good luck.
Re: Mexico city Beach ....pinfish ?????
The canal is great for pinfish traps, but also great for thieves. Put them out late and check them early. And if you catch the thieves slap them for me!!
