Modified sine wave inverter

Is a modified sine wave inverter appropriate for use with a laptop in the car?

Or do you need to go to a unit that produces a smoother wave?

An 80 watt, plug-in unit should handle a laptop, I'd think.

Get a 150 watt, an 80 is to close to being maxed out. The battery will clean up the input before it gets to the circutry on a laptop

does double duty as a spare ac power and plugs into cig lighter. No bulky inverters that will over heat. They have them at best buy

For $80 less you can use this on and be assured of the correct amps because you're using the laptops power adaptor and can use it for things other than your laptop
