Penn Customer Service

Post by LucWilliams »

About a month ago, one of my favorite Penn rods broke in half when I went to cast it. This was my go to rod and I could not have been happier with the rod up to this point. It was a rod and reel (Penn Captiva combo) that I recieved as a graduation gift from none other than Mr. Otto Hough. The reel lasted me about a year, but it got stripped on a few tripletail I caught last summer. I then paired the rod with a Pflueger President, my new favorite reel. This combo caught many big fish and lots of my best catches as it was my go to combo. But as I mentioned before, the rod broke about a month ago. Since the rod was over two years old, I was told that the best Penn could do for me was offer me a new rod at a discounted price because this rod was out of warranty. Although I was not pleased with the situation, I figured it was better than nothing. I shipped off my rod and included a letter expressing how I thought that the rod would last my whole life and I was a bit disappointed that it had broken. Less than two weeks after shipping off the broken rod(no reel), I recieved a brand new Penn Pursuit combo. All that I was responsible for was paying for shipping. I just wanted to take a minute to commend Penn on their great customer service.

Glad to hear that. Penn has gone through some major changes over the years but it is good to hear that the quality of their customer service hasn't suffered.
