To quote Randy Travis.......

Post by KyTrkyHntr »

I'm diggin' up Golden bones, i'm diggin' up Golden bones......Exhuming things thats better left alone.... :-D Well, close to a quote anyway.... Another good day on the water today. Hooked 4 fish with 3 to the boat and one came unbuttoned right at the boat. Fish were even more spooky with the calm conditions this afternoon when the cloud cover broke. Turned out to be a nice afternoon when the sun came out. Much easier to spot fish.

Thanks! The last couple of outings the water temp has been cooler so they seemed to make some longer runs and have some fight in them! Also the "eats" seem more aggressive as well!! Good stuff!!

Barren River Lake. It's about 30-40 mins from the house.... Nice little lake!!!

THE WATER LEVEL LOOKS NORMAL TO ME, SURE WISH WE HAD SOME RAIN DOWN HERE SO THE PONDS WOULD COME BACK UP. THIS IS THE LOWEST I HAVE SEEN THE LAKES AND PONDS IN S.W. GA. IN THE LAST 25 YRS. WE HAVE ONE POND THAT IS BONE DRY AND THE BOTTOM IS GETTING LARGE CRACKS ALL THE WAY ACROSS.

Nicely done, Tim. Are you using an 8-weight or what?

You really should let Kim pick out your clothes, though. Not enough contrast between the shirt and the fish. Those shots will never be cover-worthy for Hillbilly Angler.

  I'll let her know!!

I got a 7wt setup for these guys... TFO BVK and that seems to be just right. 8wt would be good too though!

This is a really good video on the Backstabber and I agree with Chalk. Could make a good Redfish fly!

They do make a couple of good runs, but none have gone into the backing yet. More of a tug of war with these guys... they want to run for cover so they head right for the boat and try and get under it.....
