Influx of Fresh Water

Post by GoneGator »

Anyone want to speculate on what the fishings going to be like after this big influx of fresh water? I have been fishing out of Bottom's landing the past month trying to learn the area more and was looking forward to getting back down to St. Marks this weekend but am now thinking about somewhere not so river influenced. Thoughts?

There is really nowhere to run GG..Everyone seems to be getting the showers. I would speculate that Keaton (south ) would be the safest bet for clear water. Still shouldn't be bad around St. Marks, Lanark & St. Joe...

I don't expect the water color to change all that much. Yes we got rain but the ground was so dry that I doubt more than just a normal amount of runoff occured.

I still expect 2 things. Slightly darker water, and slightly cooler water. Both of which should be beneficial to the fishing. Predominate tides this weekend are risers so clean water should be available if you want it.

And no I didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night. :-D

Most of the rivers were low. I din't think there has been that much fresh water influx. What we're seeing is what used to be normal summer afternoon thunder storms. Who knows? We might get back to normal rainfall.
What was I supposed to do today?

I covered a lot of territory on the water east and west of Ochlocknee this morning (Fri) and Tom's right, colored water but not turbid.
