Went out to St George yesterday with the fly rods looking for redfish. I fished the youth camp boat ramp on low rising tide and got a short redfish and a few lizard fish on a orange/brown marabou clouser. There was a steady NNE breeze that made casting a little difficult, so I headed over to the beach to fish the last few hours of the rising tide. I got a short pompano and a couple of whiting on a small (#6 hook) fly with yellow calftail and orange body. The surf was clear and full of baitfish and rays. The wind had died by then so I headed back to the boat ramp but nothing doing. There were a number of other fishermen there but the action was slow. The water was murky from the recent heavy rain (lots of flooded yards, standing water).
