I hear that. I was telling the boss that if this keeps up I might just go fishing on the good weather days and come to work on the bad weather days.
I am not sure I can fish 300 days a year, but I am sure I can't earn enough $$ in 65.
I see where Saturday the wind will be out of the North at 13. Is that what you guys see as well? I think I may still try to do some inshore fishing w/ those winds.
I'm going out from Carrabelle in he morning. Been several weeks and I had to use a vacation day to enjoy this weather and go get some grouper (I'm using the power of positive thinking).
Anyone know if pinfish are still prevalent in the grass flats around Dog Island?
Wish I knew for ya BM, but good luck with the fishes today

NO GROUPER, and trolled for 8 hours but did get these two critters "gatorade bottle for size"

Didn't want to risk it so we bought pinfish from Franks Bait and tackle, but the grouper didn't want them at all. We finally switched to frozen ly's and got 2 keeper gags plus stripped a dozen times at least.
Ran into some other guys at the marina who said they had better luck on frozen as well. They slayed 'em.
Not sure if that is seasonal or just one of those strange days.
We went SE of the lighthouse and covered a lot of bottom and got no groupa love.
We threw frozen, thawed, cut, stretch 30's and 25's, cut ladyfish, and live pins (found tons still on the flats).
The man pulled us for a check and said they had only seen one fish all day.
Thought we were gonna git on em, but who cares, we saw a bald eagle and it was gorgeous out there....

I started at the Rotory reef in 25 foot "something HUGE took my line like a runaway frieght train and broke the 60# power pro when I cinched down the drag", only the one bite, then went over to the Bouy 26 area and trolled between 30 and 45 foot, both Kings hit in the 30 foot range. Trolled from 7:30am till 3;30pm "except when I was running the 18 mile back and forth"!!
