Pulled out of the ramp at about 7:00 am and headed to the birdrack where Ive been fishing lately, wind was calm ,water temp 84 degrees, tossed a live scrimp /CT out the back of the boat and was gonna work a grub on the bottom, before i could get my grub on I had a 16 in trout on,seemed like it was gonna be a good day at that point, unfortunately i didnt get another trout from there after fishing 2+hrs. Headed over towards the creeks around Aucilla to try my luck on a redfish, anchored down off a oyster bar and quickly pulled up a 21 in. redfish, caught a few more puppys, but the 21in. red was the only legal I caught, spanish were schooling bigtime at the mouth of the creek and I caught 7 16-24in. spanish ,those were fun.Tide was headed out so I headed back toward Econfina and tried for some more trout, this time i was straight out the mouth about 2 miles, fishing 4-5 feet of water, worked it hard with grubs and shrimp and caught 3 more trout, the bite was pretty slow all day. Final tally 4 trout 16-18.5 in. 7 spanish 16-24in. 1 21in. redfish.2-3 short trout ,2 puffer fish 8 cats

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

Econfina the next day

Tried the same area today (Friday) from EConfina. The wind was not too bad...but it wasn't calm. Tried the area about 1 mile south of the tripod...zip. Went over toward Aucilla...close in to shore....got a few shorts. Went out to the 4-5 foot depth...and on CT/jigs got 3 about 17in around 11-12 oclock.
Caught a silver dollar size shiner(pinfish)....and within 5 min.....had a good keeper trout.
It was tough fishing to me. Quit about 3 PM. Gonna lay low for awhile.
