confusion per "everyone pay their fair share"...

Post by RalphKramden2011 »

I listened intently to Pres."everyone pay their fair share" Obama and then I read the IRS's own numbers as reported.

I would have been much more impressed if he had reported that thirty something of his own staffers had just paid 833 THOUSAND and change they owed in back taxes.

Are you kidding me?

No silly. The 50% who do not pay taxes are demorats. The President is a demorat. It is only the other 50% who did not vote for the demorats who are expected to pay another 50%. :smt011

In this era of advanced technology the IRS runs way behind in publishing figures. It is amazing that banks, corporations, individuals and businesses in general know their finances instantly.
These are from their 2008 summary and I'm sure the numbers were even more negative in 2009-2010!

According to the IRS, the top 1 percent of income earners—those earning more than $380,000 in 2008—paid more than 38 percent of all federal income taxes while earning 20 percent of all income. The top 10 percent ($114,000 and above) earned 45 percent of income and paid 70 percent of all taxes. At the same time, the bottom 50 percent of income earners—those earning less than $33,000—earned 13 percent of all income and paid less than 3 percent of federal income taxes.

I repeat!

The IRS admits to currently tripling audits in the group already paying 70% of taxes!
