If not zydeco, what I listen to on the boat is a close cousin... think swamp rock might be better term, though think it includes a few tunes featuring ol' Woopty himself! Bill Wharton & The Ingredients, Buddy Guy, CCR, Jerry Reed, Jim Stafford, John Fogerty, Mofro, Muddy Waters, Pops Staples, Ry Cooder, Soul of John Black, Swamp Cabbage, and Tony Joe White seem to all draw 'em in good!woopty wrote:Play zydeco music and dance around on the boat.

My midwester Husker roots will compel me to try out some Waylon.....of course, I'm not sure how good the cobia bite is back in Nebraska.

This one sure isn't midwestern, but another Tony Joe White deep-south one too good not to share. Father was 1 of 11 children of my sharecropper Grandfather and he's expressed the exact same sentiments about race as this song... that when you're dirt poor and toiling ground together side by side with a man of a different color, different shades of color last thing on your mind.
