Farm Pond

I haven't posted a report in a while. My son is 4 1/2 and he is the perfect age to take him wherever I go. He has already been to the flats 5 or 6 times this season and to the river more times than I can count. He is not at the point where he can rig his own bait, cast and bring the fish in. My father in law and I took him with us to a pond that is on a plantation about 10 miles south of my house. We put in the pond and I was in the process of getting everything together. My son was chomping at the bit to start fishing. He picked a black zoom 7 inch u-tail worm out of my tacklebox and started fishing. Within 2 casts he brought this fish in the boat. It's not a monster but I am very proud of him. Being a dad sure changes your perspective on a good day fishing. This was one of the best. It also doesn't hurt that his PaPa is a taxidermist. I don't keep many bass, but this one will go in his room.
