9/1/12 quick trip

This is a few weeks late, but headed out early to test the new to me trailer from Flint River Pirate. Trailer did great. Put in at the lighthouse just before sunrise and headed to the rock garden, made one stop on the way. Tons of mullet headed out with the tide, no luck there. Went to the middle of the rock garden throwing a redfish colored topwater.

This guy was the first taker and he was just too short for the cooler.

These two made it to the cooler. Nothing much better than watching the lure come flying out of the water and the trout just keep on hitting it.

Caught a few other short trout while the tide was headed out and one more on the slack tide west of the rocks. Not a bad day at all, home by noon with dinner makes the wife happy.
