November - Thanksgiving

Post by SHOWBOAT »

As I noted in the "Birthday" thread early this month, I was not born in November, but I have had a great month. There is much to be thankful for. It started with a trip to OH for some archery whitetails and time with my parents. Not only did I get to play 18 holes with them, I also harvested my first deer with a bow. I saw all different phases of the OH rut and rattled in probably a dozen different bucks over 4 days. The largest I saw from the stand is the TC pic below, and he crossed my path 8 times and as close as 15 yards. Management is quite a bit different there with only one buck tag/person/year. Having harevested the deer below when he presented a 20 yard broadside shot, all I could do was play with the 8 in the TC pic.

Returned to a wonderful duck opener with Matt, our friend from work, Matt's little brother and brother's friend. Took 23 birds including widgeon, gads, redheds, bluebills, ringers and teal. I was going to include a beautiful sunrise picture, but my hunting buddies would not allow....so the tailgate shot is all I can share

Sunday gave me the chance to play in the River with Matt and his boy before meeting Katie for lunch at Riverside. The morning provided eagle sightings, Dylan's 1st red, sheepy and snapper. Probably caught a dozen reds before grabbing lunch and going manatee searching.

I didn't even mention my Buckeyes are still undefeated....

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday week!

anytime Barry. You're welcome to use the redfish hole too.

When do I get a guided trip? I was promised one after the last house deal....
