St Marks NWR - 09 Dec

Post by Terrier »

Fished the wash bar by the boat ramp this morning - had some good activity on the incoming tide until the clouds burned off around noon. Ended up with 6 trout, all around 16" - kept four for dinner. Also got three ladyfish. Everything came on olive over tan or olive over white clousers. I also foul hooked a mullet - it gave a good account of itself; I wish they'd take a hook.
The water is very clear at the refuge and while not warm, it's not too cold for wading for 3 - 4 hours.

It's tough to beat wading, love being on a boat but love wading even more - catching is much different!

Good report
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
