Re: New to the Panacea area
I really appreciate all the feedback on this post. I feel like we now have a gameplan instead of the ol' "hey that looks good, let's try it over there" methodology. As for the map, I went with the Fla Sportsman map, just waiting for it to come in the mail. Again, I really appreciate ya'lls graciousness and I will post a trip report.

Check out the clam bar just outside of the mouth of the "O". It will be brimming with trout during your visit. Also, Crums is your only option for live shrimp. The BP tanks are dry.
Re: New to the Panacea area
Well the learning curve was a little more severe than expected but we did manage a few fish. We fished Friday and again on Saturday until the storms hit at about 2:30. We managed 12 trout with only 2 keepers and 3 short reds on Friday. Saturday we caught 2 short trout, 2 short reds and 1 decent 19” keeper, and 1 sheephead. We had planned to fish Alligator Bay on Friday but when we got to the ramp the winds were howling and the waves were white capping. I would have swamped my little skiff if we would have tried to launch so we wound up fishing Ochlocknee Bay both days. The water temp was 63. We love the Panacea area and were very impressed with Crum’s…it’s a true one-stop-shop! We also tried Posey’s on Friday night and the food was great with unbelievable portions! We look forward to coming back when the weather and water temps are a little more favorable. Thanks again for all ya’lls instruction, it really helped out.
