Etec 90 1 year progress report

Have had an issue with the tach which seems like it has a bad connection somewhere . Also, down trim is testy. Will get both looked at after fishing season .... As for the engine itself , runs awesome. Plenty of low and mid range power for my flats boat.... I don't care about top end so haven't checked it. Cranks first turn and quiet. Not as quiet as four strokes at idle, but equal or slightly better at speed.

Are you running non-ethanol fuel in it? I have a buddy in Panama City that has had a lot of trouble with a 115 Etec. We think we have the issues narrowed down to bad fuel, but we are not 100 % sure.

Yep..... Non ethanol only..... Also running the 50:1 oil. It doesn't use much, and fuel economy has been great. I love Yamaha, but the 4 strokes were too heavy.
