SGI - Apr 28

Post by Terrier »

Went out to St George early this morning and fished the state park. Wanted to try the surf for Pompano but it was too rough for the long rod due to the steady SE wind. Tried the Youth Camp Boat ramp but got nothing. I then walked over to Rattlesnake Cove and fished the old pilings - started slow but got good around 11:00 AM with the tide change. Ended up with 4 flounder, three right at 17" and one at 13" plus 3 trout, one at 17", one at 15" which I released and one nice fat 23" trout which I also released. I also got three ladyfish, one of which was of good size and fought well. Gold and chartreuse polarflash clousers accounted for almost all of the fish - the flash really helps in the off-color water conditions of today.
