Ran on out to near the channel end and moved over to the area near the channel known as the "Trout Flat". Not much going on a couple of sea bass some shorts etc. Drifted with the wind and waves were not a big deal as long as you were just drifting along.
Move in to the grass line and caught a few legal trout but released for another day. The girls got tired of the wave action so I moved back out to the Trout Flat area only to get on the absolute HOTTEST Ladyfish bite I have ever seen
I was using some Trigger X shrimp (Nuclear Chicken) I had gotten on clearance and they were killing them.. Several times my wife and i would double up and have two and three ladyfish run right up to the boat following the one we had hooked up. We had fun watching them jump and fight so it turned a relatively lousy catching day into some fun. The girls were laughing and yelling at the aerial acrobats of the "poor man's tarpon" and they remembered to keep them out of the boat so no poop stains either.Boat and OB ran good, no problems out of the new axle and trailer adjustment, girls had a good time despite getting wet and they got practiced up standing in a rocking boat for snapper fishing in June = good time
