I took my Grandson and son to Econfina for my Grandson's annual Birthday fishing trip. We enjoyed and pancake breakfast for a cheerleader fund raiser and then off to the coast. Trying to improve on last years trip where we hit a rock and lost a foot on the motor at 7:30AM, we unloaded the boat around 10 or so. Headed out to calm conditions and hot temps. Water temp was upper 70's early and hit 80 before we ended the day.
No bite, so we would fish and move, fish and move. We hung in long enough till we got a little cloud cover and a slight chop, or at least a ripple, and started picking up a few. Ended up with a nice mess of fish and some good time on the water with family. 5 trout, 3 Spanish, 2 rock bass. worked water from 5' to 11'. Will try to post a few pictures later. Oh, yeah, No rocks and brought the foot home in good shape.
A blessed day for sure...
