Back with a vengeance.

Post by woopty »

Had a lower unit go bad, and then had a hell of a time finding a replacement.
Finally found one after two months of looking, and along with the artistry that is Porter Marine, we rollin'.

Soooooooo....
We headed out today for my first trip since the cobia arrived.

Hello...

Apalachee Bay Grand Slam
2 cobes - 36" & 37"
King 38"
Nice red, trout, and spanish.
No keeper gags, about a dozen 21&1/2 inchers

Was a paradise out there today.

Incredible.

So glad your reports are back

Whiteline bird-dog...one uglyazz fish-catching machine
It was re-configured, the tunnel closed, floatation added, and the motor out on a reinforced transom
it was a work boat for years out of the aucilla and i get lots of great stories (one of which is a great sea monster story told to me by several folks)from strangers at the ramp.
Can't miss me...

Did have an interesting experience out there.
Water was crystal clear and we could easily see the bottom.
I always hang a big pin 20ft under the boat, and i looked down and saw my cobia circling it.
Both of us leaned over the side and watched for 15 mins as he kept molesting it.
Couple more showed up, so we dropped a couple more baits down there.
So there we were, like a cheering section, leaned over the boat for 30 minutes watching the show.
Of course as soon as we got up, whammo... guess they were just shy...
