Hi, have done a small amount of fly fishing for reds in SC, but never much in FL. Have a little house rented in rattlesnake cove for the first week in October and will have access to a stand up paddleboard, any tips for finding fish, reading tides, and getting them to eat?? No bit of info is too small! thanks!

Hopefully by October the water will be clear. I've had a little success with redfish at SGI, mostly in the state park at the Youth Camp Boat ramp and across the spit at the old pilings at the eastern edge of Rattlesnake cove.
I blind cast along pilings and channels along the oyster bars with marabou or polarflash clousers in deeper water with either a clear intermediate or a floating line with a 8' - 10' leader. Best colors have been combos of orange/brown over white or tan; for the polarflash, golds and greens. Dupree spoons should work. For trout, same flies except with more baitfish colors - silver and dark green polarflash, chartreuse or pink over white.
Flounder can be active as well.
