In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Will the St. Marks Refuge main entrance be open due to the government shut down?

I'll be watching everyone drive by from the office, unfortunately
Good luck and be safe; hopefully the storm doesn't interfere.
And y'all are already doing the backup mystery fish?!

This weather got me thinking about the possibility of having to cancel the Nov tournament. Therefore I decided to try and have a back-up this month, weather permitting.galantnole wrote:And y'all are already doing the backup mystery fish?!

If the Refuge is closed, I'm out. Dang.
Re: Oct 5th NFGFC Tourney Roll Call
Gary and Tad coming to fish.
Re: Oct 5th NFGFC Tourney Roll Call
I just called St Marks Refuge. Closed until further notice...that means the gate across the road is shut. Argh.

Re: Oct 5th NFGFC Tourney Roll Call
Folks,
Keep a close eye on the weather and this thread. Not looking good right now, and I'll try to cancel prior to Saturday morning if we are going to do so. Given the range of locations where people can launch, anglers should be able to stay pretty protected which means the Tournament Committee won't rely solely upon a small craft advisory in determining whether to hold the tournament. I'll post an update here in the event we reach the decision to cancel the Oct tournament.
Thanks

Re: Oct 5th NFGFC Tourney Roll Call
at this point the tournament is still scheduled to take place.
My sources are saying this front won't be a problem until Sunday evening or Monday morning. I'll post an update if anything changes.
