The October 5, 2013 Tournament will be held out of Saint Marks Outfitters http://stmarksoutfitters.com/
Anglers may launch from Lanark to Econfina. Safelight is 7:02.

Please review the rules at http://www.nfgfc.org/tournaments_rules.html
Entry forms are located at http://www.nfgfc.org/forms/tournament_entry_form.doc

You may register at the October Club meeting or at Saint Marks Outfitters between 6:00 and 6:20 am on tournament day.
Tournament entry fee is $20 per boat for club members. $25 per boat if a non-member is on the boat.
PLEASE BRING EXACT CHANGE FOR ENTRY FEES AND EACH OF THE SIDE POTS. At registration, those who have their forms filled out will be registered first.

Tournament Format: Weigh one person’s legal limit of Trout (15-20” - NO OVERSLOT TROUT permitted). The combined weight of each team’s limit of fish will determine the winner.
Side pots:
Big Trout - $5 per person, everyone on the boat must participate to win.
Big Redfish - $10 per person, everyone on the boat must participate to win.

Kevin’s Fine Outdoor Gear and Apparel, http://www.kevinscatalog.com/ will continue to offer a $50.00 gift certificate for the biggest Flounder at each North Florida Gulf Fishing Club Tournament for 2013.
Thanks to Mike’s Marine Ways, for sponsoring the October Mystery Fish; $300 for the largest pompano. Since the dirty water has made it difficult to find pompano, we will designate a back-up fish to ensure this money is paid out prior to year end. In the event a pompano is not brought to the scales, then the largest sailcat will take the $. BMan-this is your chance to make a splash with a tournament debut :D Mike can be reached at (850) 925-5685 or 56 Industrial Ct, Crawfordville, FL.

Teams must be checked in at Saint Marks Outfitters by 3:30 pm on tournament day. The weigh-in will begin at 3:45 pm and teams will weigh their fish in the order of entry.

Will the St. Marks Refuge main entrance be open due to the government shut down?

I'll be watching everyone drive by from the office, unfortunately :(

Good luck and be safe; hopefully the storm doesn't interfere.

And y'all are already doing the backup mystery fish?!

This weather got me thinking about the possibility of having to cancel the Nov tournament. Therefore I decided to try and have a back-up this month, weather permitting.

I just called St Marks Refuge. Closed until further notice...that means the gate across the road is shut. Argh.

Folks,

Keep a close eye on the weather and this thread. Not looking good right now, and I'll try to cancel prior to Saturday morning if we are going to do so. Given the range of locations where people can launch, anglers should be able to stay pretty protected which means the Tournament Committee won't rely solely upon a small craft advisory in determining whether to hold the tournament. I'll post an update here in the event we reach the decision to cancel the Oct tournament.

Thanks

at this point the tournament is still scheduled to take place.

My sources are saying this front won't be a problem until Sunday evening or Monday morning. I'll post an update if anything changes.
