Keaton Beach 10/06

Post by ddb »

Fished out of Keaton Beach 10/06 with Breambuster and BB Jr. We were watching the storm fairly closely and when it appeared it was breaking up we made the decision to head down. It's been a while since we've all been able to fish together due to a busy summer, but we made up for some lost time. We finished up with a limit of sea trout with 3 over 20 and a nice 25" red picked up by Calvin. We were primarily fishing 4-5' of water with our best success in 4.5' in fairly stained water. We did hunt out in 8' for the sand trout that had been advertised but only succeeded in finding some really nice sized sail cats and lady fish. All of our fish were picked up on pin fish under Cajun Thunders.

(Sorry about the angle, I'm rotationally challenged)

Pretty day on the water, breezes were fairly stead at 5-10, water temps ran from 78-80. There's some pretty good fall fishing for those that aren't in the tree stand.

We've had good luck both to the north and to the south in the last week. The key for us has been to find water with some color, but not dirty.
