Marathon charter?

Post by OneTripletail »

Hello folks, we are going down to marathon over the holidays. Does anyone know a good charter boat they recommend for some offshore fishing? Thank you.

Maybe some mahi trolling then maybe some mangrove snapper fun for the kids. We are up for just about anything. It will be three adults and two kids 9 and 10. Any suggestions first trip to the keys?

Dolphin might not be your best best but Capt. Rick is very good and will put you and your kids on some fish.

One of my best friends charters a boat out of Bayfront in Homestead and Key Largo. He might go south to Islamorada, not sure about Marathon. I've caught sailfish with him over the holidays before. If that is too far you could at least call him and see who he recommends.

Over the years, my 3 sons and myself have taken many trips on the Marathon Lady. Yes, it's a party boat but after 3 or 4 trips we've always brought home fish. You'll be able to go out 3 or 4 times for what you'd pay for a charter. The captains and crew do a great job and for youngsters the age your working with it will be a hoot. http://www.marathonlady.net/ I was there 2 years ago and they were still selling a book of tickets at 12 for the price of 10. That would give your group a couple of trips at a discount.
