Trout Recruitment and other ??'s
A few things I've noticed this year.
First is the best news. Just from general observations there are far more 2-4" trout around than I've ever seen over the last ten years. (I catch them trawling while leading marine biology classes)
The Gag recruitment seems typical.
The killi fish (bull minnows) numbers are real low. They're around but not like I'm used to seeing.
Small mullet, 2-6", are everywhere. Higher numbers than I'm used to seeing.
Spanish are much more scattered than prior years. Why?
Not many Blue Runners.
More and bigger Bluefish.
Where are the Jacks? I did just read about them to the east but I haven't seen them for two years west of St Marks.

Which report/study? If you'll send me a link I'd be happy to add my 2 cents, for what it's worth. I'll critique both ways but I can tell you ahead of time that very few people are aware of the amount of rigor that goes into Marine Fisheries reports.
Rigor means real data from real experiments reviewed critically by qualified people who's job it is to find flaws in the work.

"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
No, bull minnows live in the shallow-nearshore water (littoral zone
) so they wouldn't normally interact with Jacks (Crevale or Blue Runners).
My interest was peaked so I looked, here's the link to the article.

My 2 cents will come in a new topic post.
Thanks Sir Reel
