st.marks feb 22nd

Post by redfishrangler »

Headed out to the lighthouse on Saturday for some much needed fishing. Got there at sunrise and took off. Decided to work some bars for a little bit first thing in the morning with little luck. Got one 18" trout and nothing else. Called it quit on those bars and moved to another set a little ways away with about the same results. One 18" trout and a 22" that was nice to see but no other bites. Saw several nice size reds but they weren't interested in what I was throwing at them. After an hour or so I headed to the flats with no activity at all besides a quick stop by fwc. Was a beautiful day but not a very productive one. All in all can't complain was better than sitting at home. Water temp was 64 by the bars and 62-63 on the flats.

Good you got few. Water temp higher than I thought it would be right now. Thanks for the report.

Thanks for a rare fishing report. Good to know someone is fishing. We've not been in the water from the first of November so are well depleted of salt by now. We keep saying, "We've got to go fishing!" but things seem to come up.

Glad you caught some fish. Being on the water would be enough for us, fish would just be topping on the cake.
