Wonder what it will be like this weekend. From the looks of pictures that I saw on the news, Keaton Beach was dry as a bone for about 3 days. Reckon where the fishes will be? How long will it take them to move back in close. Reckon all the scallops are long gone (yeah, I know that Saturday is the last day...) Bet that water's gonna be a little murky. What ya'll think?
Always like to fish close at Keaton after a storm. Seems to wash foodstuffs for trout out of the marsh. Really depends on how much fresh water is up close.
Keaton is not as prone to freshwater flushing as other places back around the bend.
Lanark & points west were as low as I've ever seen them Sunday AM. That includes the lowest winter tides. I think you could have walked to Lanark reef. The tide wasn't really that low it was just the north wind that just blew the water out.
What impact will it have? Good question. Almost like fishing to guess an answer.
My guess is that if the nearshore areas are hit hit with any "dieoff" (mostly inverts, fish swim) it will translate quickly into a concentration of baitfish taking advantage of it. Our favorite critters will follow.
Overall the impact will be minimal.
