Fished the refuge Friday and today - both times at the wash bar with an outgoing tide for most of the time. Friday had a lot of activity with Jacks, a few spanish and two rat reds. I also lost two large fish, prob. upper slot reds. One bent the hook and the other pulled loose after a few few runs along the bar.

Today had some activity in the morning - got two lower slot reds, one at 18", the other 19". Also got two jacks, a short trout and my first mangrove snapper on the fly. Right after noon, I picked up a 19" trout on a white clouser. Most everything else came on either a white/chartreuse/olive clouser or a tan/chartreuse/olive clouser.

I had a manatee almost bump into me and, at mid-morning, sharks were cruising the flat - looked to be at 6', judging by the size of the dorsal and the space from the dorsal to the tip of the tail - lots of wildlife today.
