A young man in Valdosta does camo dipping with Mossy Oak patterns and other non-national patterns. He is trying to get this business going so he can make a living to support his family.

He dipped the lid of my old 85 qt Yeti with the new blades pattern. To get his name out, he is running a special. This is a great deal if you want a dipped lid cooler. For example, he usually get $5 a quart for lids alone which would be $175 for a 35 quart. The 35 qt YETI retails for $299.90, but you can get it with dipped lid and taxes included for $390.00.

From the website, it looks like he does a lot of other things. Guns and automotive accessories. That $5 per quart is for the lid only. The whole cooler is $8 per quart. 75 qt = $600, plus the price of the cooler, you have almost paid for an ice maker. Hopefully he will do well, especially since he dips guns. I can easily see spending $195 to get a shotgun dipped, but $600 for a cooler is a little steep.

I watched parts of him dipping a whole cooler. It is a four day process, because each side and the lid has to be dipped separately and the other sides have to be taped off, allowed to dry and then process repeated. There is way more than 4 times the work in a whole cooler. The amount for the full cooler dipping is more than I wanted to spend, so I had him just dip my lid and it looks great.

After that I brought him a friends shotgun to dip. A browning hunter and it is being done in blades. The camo was coming off of the browning bad. I got my gun out yesterday and noticed that the camo is coming off of the barrel on my newish A-5 as well. I know guys who got their guns dipped by this same process several years ago and they had no complaints. This process puts a tougher thicker protectant clear coat on the gun.

The special he is offering includes the sales tax so the lid is being dipped for about $100 if you buy the cooler from him now. Yeti will not let anyone discount their coolers. I am helping him get the coolers as a part of getting set up as a yeti dealer. He has no intention of selling non-dipped yeti coolers.

My 85 is so big, I am thinking about getting a 35 or 45 myself under this deal.

Right now there seems to be a demand for yeti coolers, which to me is crazy in this economy. All but one 45qt is pre-sold in his first order.

From what I know, he has camo'd guns, flashlights, knives, baseball and football helmets, go lights, microwaves, mudmotor parts, dashboards, wheels and golf carts. He has a website with some pictures.

I am trying to find a way to do a wrap for a cooler with the coastal grand slam showing on it for a big white cooler I have.

He is a good young man with a wife and 2 kids. He used to be a draftsman in the construction industry and we all know what has happened with that. So he is basically reinventing himself. He has been to the mossy oak training to do this process and has been doing it over a year now.
